Welcome! To the Hard Luck Mine and Castle
It all started 12 years ago when Randy and his son where driving their VW buggy through a desert snowstorm. Looking for somewhere dry to camp for the night, they pulled out of the fog alongside the Hard Luck Mine cabin. Long story short, Randy ended up purchasing the cabin and has maintained the cabin and mine for all these years while building his dream home – The Hard Luck Castle. Randy started building in 2000, and now nearly completed, he is offering tours and cabin lodgings to the curious and adventurous.
The castle lies 35 miles south of Goldfield, Nevada, near State Route 267 and Scottys Junction on Hwy 95. The road is kept open and is travelable by all vehicles, except maybe low sports cars. Call ahead for tour times and road conditions.
